The Fire/Emergency Medical Services, (EMS) provides fire, rescue, emergency medical and non-emergency services to protect the lives, property and environment of our community while ensuring the highest commitment to safety, professionalism, integrity and care.

Charlotte County Fire and Emergency Medical Services is a full service career department. The department provides fire suppression/rescue operations, pre-hospital emergency medical care and transport, Special Operations, (Hazardous Materials - Technical Rescue), Marine Operations and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF). Charlotte County Fire/EMS services an area of 693 square miles with a population of approx.162,449.
Operating out of 16 Fire/EMS stations throughout our County, our emergency personnel are highly trained Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) or Paramedics. Emergency crews are divided into three 24 hour shifts, which work from 8:00 am to 8:00 am followed by 48 hours off duty.
Charlotte County Fire/EMS is a part of Charlotte County Public Safety. Other public safety divisions include Emergency Management, Animal Control and Radio Management.
