County Closings & Schedules

Thanksgiving Holidays - November 26 and 27, 2009

All Charlotte County Government Business Offices, including Murdock Administration Center, will be closed.

Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau Offices will be closed. Visitors with questions on things to do can call 1.800.652.6090.

Environmental & Extension Services (EES)

  • Garbage Collection – There will be no garbage collection on Thursday, Nov. 26. If your collection day falls on Thursday, your collection will take place on Friday, Nov. 27, and Friday’s collection will take place on Saturday, Nov. 28.
  • Both Mini-Transfer Facilities (West Charlotte and Mid County) – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Zemel Road landfill – closed Nov. 26

Human Services

  • Sunshine Ride – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Dial-A-Ride – closed Nov. 26. open Nov. 27 for regular operating hours with 8 routes instead of 13 routes.
  • Family Services Center – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27

Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources

  • Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Resources Administration office – closed
  • Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center – Offices will be closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Charlotte County Library Administration – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Charlotte County Libraries – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Charlotte County Historical Center – closed Nov. 26. open Nov. 27 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Skate Parks – J.M. Berlin/Rotary Skate Park is closed Nov. 26, all other Skate parks closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Pools – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • South County Regional Park Recreation Center – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Tringali Recreation Center– closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27
  • Harold Ave Recreation Center – closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27

Fire/EMS Headquarters will be closed Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 – all other stations will be open.
