Charlotte County Toilet Rebate Program
As part of its ongoing water conservation efforts, Charlotte County Utilities is providing a Toilet Rebate Program to encourage its customers to replace older, high-consumption toilets (3.5 gallons or more per flush) manufactured prior to 1994, with new, low-consumption models that use 1.6 gallons or less per flush.

The program is cooperatively funded by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) Peace River Basin Board. Since May 2008, rebates have been made available to commercial and multi-family properties. Beginning December 1, 2008, CCU’s single-family residential customers are also eligible to participate.

Residential rebates are for up to $85 per toilet, up to two toilets per residential unit. Commercial and multi-family rebates of up to $100 per toilet are still available. The differential is due to the benchmark used by SWFWMD to project water savings, which is higher for commercial than for single-family toilets.

The program is available to current CCU water customers only. Participants must request a rebate application and receive a reservation prior to toilet replacement and must follow all program guidelines, including a post-installation inspection of both the old and new toilets. Rebates may be applied to applicable parts, including tank, bowl and associated fixtures, but not installation charges or toilet seats.

For more information or a rebate application, please contact the Toilet Rebate Program office toll-free at 888.843.9832.
