THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PROCESS
The West Port WRF is a complete mix, activated sludge treatment facility with a rating of 0.385mgd based on annual average design flow. The liquid stream includes: preliminary treatment (screening and flow equalization ), secondary treatment (activated sludge and clarification), and effluent disinfection (chlorine gas). The effluent is discharged to CCU's on site effluent irrigation fields with backup disposal to one on-site deep injection well. The solids stream treatment includes activated sludge thickening (sludge drying beds), aerobic digestion and a sludge load out for off-site transport and land disposal (via private contractor).
