Charlotte Alert

January 12, 2009 - January, 2010
Port Charlotte, FL – Monday, January 12, 2009, at 9:00 a. m., Toledo Blade Boulevard traffic will be shifting onto the new pavement recently installed east of the existing roadway to allow for the reconstruction of the old pavement as part of a joint project with the City of North Port and Benderson Development. This project increases Toledo Blade Boulevard to four lanes from US 41 in Charlotte County to I-75 in the City of North Port.  The shifting of traffic is necessary to allow the contractor to construct drainage improvements, place a new sidewalk, and install roadway lighting along the entire length of the project.  Anticipated project completion is January 2010, when all lanes will be open to traffic. Motorists are urged to use caution and be alert for differing traffic patterns when traveling through the project construction zone.

July 2009 - February 2011
Punta Gorda, FL – Improvements to Aqui Esta Drive are continuing with periodic lane closures on Aqui Esta Drive, from US 41 to Bal Harbor Boulevard until project completion expected in February 2011.  Detour signs and flaggers are present to direct traffic around the closures. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes and exercise caution while traveling in the area.
