Project Status Update
Edgewater/Flamingo Corridor Phase 1
Brian Barnes, Project Engineer
The initial phase of the Edgewater/Flamingo corridor project consists of the purchase of right-of-way, preliminary engineering design, permitting, and mitigation of a new two-lane roadway from SR 776 to Collingswood Boulevard. The project excludes the road that lies within Murdock Village. It is anticipated that stormwater elements of this phase and later phases will be included as funding permits. It is anticipated that impact fees from the Murdock Village Development will fund the majority of the project construction. FDOT has recently agreed to participate in the design and implementation of a traffic signal at SR 776 and Flamingo. The cost of Tippecanoe II mitigation land acquisition is also included.
Future dates and durations associated with this project are approximations and are dependent on funding, permitting, weather, and contractor availability. Permitting for some projects, depending on their complexity, can take years to obtain.
