Florida KidCare is our state’s children’s health insurance program for uninsured children under age 19. It is made up of four programs:

  • MediKidsKidCare
  • Healthy Kids
  • Children’s Medical Services Network
  • Children’s Medicaid

When you apply for Florida KidCare, your application will be screened for all four programs to determine which program your child may be eligible for based upon age and family income. As a community partner, the Family Services Center can assist you with completing your application, submitting your application, and technical assistance in getting through the enrollment process.

Applying and Enrolling Information

  • You only need to complete one KidCare application to apply for all 4 programs.
  • Applications can be submitted through the mail, online or by fax.
  • Application process can take 4-6 weeks.
  • All applications are sent to Tallahassee. The Family Services Center can not determine eligibility for Florida KidCare.
  • If the parent/guardian receives a letter, contact the number provided on the letter for further information. Do not assume there is not any follow-up needed.
  • If an application is not completed correctly, sections are left blank, or is not legible – it may prohibit processing or delay enrollment.
Attach a current W-2 or four weeks of pay check stubs to the application as proof of income. If you are self employed, complete a self-employed income statement.
