PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Steering Committee was created by Resolution 2003-037 on February 25, 2003. Resolution Number 2004-53, signed March 23, 2004 established the committee as the Don Pedro/Knight/Palm Islands and Thornton Key Advisory Committee. It is a nine-member committee appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). The Committee created a Vision Statement January 2004 entitled “Preserving Pure Florida”. This vision statement is available online.

note: The Advisory Committee resigned on October 23, 2006. Please see a copy
of the resolution that
was passed by the Advisory Committee. Charlotte County is currently reviewing
the resolution and will formulate a follow-up in the near future.
