The Communications & Marketing Department is responsible for the communications and marketing programs for the County organization. In addition, our responsibilities also include development and supervision of Charlotte County’s Internet website (www.charlottecountyfl.com); the Employee Intranet and the government TV channel (CCTV Channel 20). We serve as a public information office, and are involved in various customer service programs.

A sample of our programs and events:

Publications - The department produces various publications including annual reports on the state of the County, The Charlotte Owner's Manual with important information for new and long-time residents, updates on sales tax projects, monthly e-news and brochures highlighting County programs and services.

CCTV-20 – Charlotte County's only Government  Television Station.  Located on Comcast channel 20, CCTV-20 broadcasts Charlotte County Board of County Commission Meetings, other public meetings, and School Board meetings as well as various  informational programs.

Citizens’ Academy - Citizens are invited to a behind the scenes look at County government. Members of each class are permitted to tour departments, view equipment, meet with department directors and ask questions of staff.

Speakers Bureau - The Communications & Marketing handles requests from schools and community organizations for information on County programs.

Annual Report and Community Reports - Issued throughout the year to explain County projects.

Owners Manual - Used by both new residents and long-time citizens, this booklet provides a comprehensive listing of “Who’s Who” in Charlotte County Government.

Community Surveys - Charlotte County listens to its citizens. Throughout the year we take surveys via the website, newspaper and suggestion boxes located throughout the organization.

Student Programs - The Communications & Marketing Department works very closely with local schools as well as home-schooled students. We present seminars on government operations, arrange tours and assist in various student projects.

Ombudsman - The Communications & Marketing Department aids citizens with concerns that have not been addressed at the departmental level or issues that cross departmental lines.
