South Gulf Cove Advisory Committee
The committee has elected to combine the August and September meetings to a single meeting on September 10, 2008. Therefore, the meetings of August 27, 2008 and September 24, 2008 have been canceled.
The SGC Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled as follows:
- Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. to noon, 18500 Murdock Circle, Room B 207, Port Charlotte, FL
In order to determine whether the South Gulf Cove Advisory Committee (Committee) still serves a necessary function and should continue in existence based on the Sunset Clause that was included in the Resolution (Number 2003-072) which established the Committee on May 13, 2003, on May 13, 2008, the Board of County Commissioners reviewed the activities of the Committee and approved a resolution extending the term of existence of the Committee.
On Saturday, March 17, 2007, a meeting was held by the SGC Advisory Committee and the County staff for the purpose of reviewing and updating the implementation of the South Gulf Cove Community Plan on. Nearly 70 people participated in the meeting. Laura Kleiss-Hoeft, Director of the Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Resources Department, Chief Dennis Didio, Director of the Fire Rescue Department, Commissioner Moore, and Tara Musselman from Department of Public Works, attended the meeting.
Town Hall Meeting
The "Town Hall" meeting held on Saturday the 11th of March, 2006 was quite successful. The Commission chamber was filled (standing room only) for the duration of the meeting. Over the next couple of weeks this website will be updated with information provided and received at this meeting.

The South Gulf Cove Advisory Committee members have formed several subcommittees to address the different action items proposed within the South Gulf Cove Community Plan. The subcommittees are open to any one who owns property in SGC or has an interest in the community through corporations or partnerships. Participation in subcommittee activities is strictly volunteer and may require the dedication of substantial time and effort.
