Green Futures Expo and Energy Options Conference

Charlotte County Building Construction Services, in conjunction with the Economic Development Office, has initiated plans for their second Southwest Florida Green Futures Expo and Energy Options Conference. The event will be held on November 12 and 13, 2010 at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center, 75 Taylor Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.

 In addition to promoting Charlotte County’s initiatives to bring environmentally friendly enterprises and industry to the area, this year’s event will focus on promoting “Building Green, From the Bottom Up.” Your participation in this 2-day event will benefit your own business from increased exposure and brand recognition through our website, and through print and television advertising. Your organization will have the opportunity to support educational efforts benefiting the citizenry, as the region and the state move toward a green and brighter future.

The Green Futures Expo is a tradeshow designed to highlight the products and services that will benefit consumers and businesses for a future of green living. Our goal is to bring together many diverse organizations to show potential homeowners, business leaders, builders, and community organizations not only the potential environmental savings from building and living green, but also the substantial dollar savings that can be attained by modifying how we live. 

This year, the Green Futures Expo will be conducting several workshops that will carry the theme of Building Green and cover the topics such as:

• What really is Green Building? From Low Impact Design and new housing to Retrofitting older structures. educate the citizenry on the options available to them as we move to a greener future.
• How does Building Green influence Real Estate?  What Financial products are available for Green Building?
• What Jobs will be created or exist for Green Building?  What kinds of educational opportunities are available to become skilled in Green Building jobs?

The workshops will run concurrently with the Expo. A registration fee of $5 per workshop will be charged to cover the cost of refreshments.

Each booth rental provides:

• 10 x 10 with skirted table, Two chairs, Wastebasket
• Booth ID sign
• Listing in event program, alphabetically
• Web site listing, alphabetically
• Continental Breakfast and Box Lunch

The Expo is open and free to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 pm.

Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis! Register early to ensure your company is represented!

Charlotte County invites any organization that supports those incentives for a greener, more sustainable future to sponsor these initiatives in one of the various sponsorship levels that are available on either of the days. (Sponsorships received after September 30, 2009 cannot be guaranteed advertising in the programs and web site.)

Over 2000 people attended last year’s event. Just think of the number of people you would reach by being a sponsor of the “Keep Charlotte Beautiful” Calendar, which will be dispersed not only at the Event but also to all of the participating schools in the county. But you have to hurry because the DEADLINE DATE TO PLACE YOUR AD IS AUGUST 11TH.
